From its inception period to date, GACF has been organizing, participating and managing different events concerning with the community rights.
Annual Meeting and Workshop, July 9-10, 2011
With the agenda of building strong collaboration between the community based network and federations, GACF is going to organized program on the theme “Strengthening community forestry networks and federations to secure tenure rights, strengthening community based forest enterprises and enhancing the livelihood of the forest dependent poor peoples” starting from July 9 to 10, 2011, Lumbok, Indonesia in conjunction with “Forest Tenure, Governance and Enterprise: Experiences and Opportunities for Asia in a Changing Context from July 11 to 15, 2011.
The program will cater a platform to explore the existing status of network and federation throughout the region where discussion will led to identifying key learning, challenges, opportunities and future direction of each respective country in relation to fortifying their federations/network status. This workshop and meeting will bring the common community position on climate change, forest tenure reform, alternative enterprise, poverty reduction, REDD+ and other concerning policies.

Community Exchange Visit: December 23-30, 2010
Network exchange visit was organized with the moto of sharing and learning in the context of community forestry experience in both the Country. GACF has been giving focus on such network exchange program from the very begining in collaboratin with its partner organization in a specific country. Such program has been fruitful interms of replicating the best practices and also enhancing the activities in organization and team building.
Asia Dialogue on “Community Forests & Property Rights in the context of Climate Change”
11-12 August, 2010: Park Village Hotel and Resort, Kathmandu
Asia Dialogue on Community Forests and Property Rights in the context of Climate Change taking place on 11 and 12 August, 2010. This promises to be an important platform for discussing how the emerging REDD+ architecture and approaches can be considerably enhanced as we move towards COP-16 in Cancun at the end of this year. In particular, the focus is on how the rich and diverse experience in community forestry of Asian countries can enrich this policy process not only in Asia but also the rest of the world.
The overall motive behind the workshop is to provide a space for open and frank exchange of ideas and developments amongst regional decision-makers, civil society, community groups and academics on the role of community forestry status of common property regimes and their implications for climate change mitigation within Asia. The dialogue convened for 2 days and be open to the public with a limited number of participants (80-100) with priority given to invited participants. It is organize to maximize time for discussion and exchange with each session being led by an introductory presentation followed by comments from the panel members.

Asia Regional Workshop
GACF is going to organize a Regional workshop in coordination with FECOFUN and RECOFTC Thai Program on Strengthening Community Forestry Networks and Federations in Asia Region.The goal of this workshop is to conduct a formal gathering of federations/networks from different parts of Asian region and develop a strategic plan on strengthening networks and federations working for empowering Community based organizations. The workshop will be of total five days including three days of dialogue and two days of field visit.

Nepal Forest Dialouge on “Investing in Locally Controlled Forestry “21 - 24 September, 2009
Nepal Forest Dialogue on ILCF was conducted in accord of GACF/FECOFUN and TFD with its goal to organized activities in favor of community organization to secure peoples’ rights on resources and mission to conduct a series of dialogue on different forest based issues on a priority basis. Before the conduction of Nepal forest dialogue, TFD was successful enough to conduct a same series of dialogue on Brussels and Panama, where the Nepal TFD program can be taken as continuing effort to build a strong coordination and collaboration between GACF partner organizations and natural resource leaders from global north & south.
Community Forest Management and Enterprises: Global issues and opportunities, Rio Branco, July 2007
An international conference that bring together about 250 leaders of forest communities, public forest agencies, industry and conservation groups to share experience in community forest management and enterprises from around the world. The issues to be discussed are the best ways of assisting the sustainable development of community-based operations.
The conference is organized by the International Tropical Timber Organization and the Rights and Resources Initiative in cooperation with IUCN – The world conservation Union and the Global Alliance of Community Forestry.
